PDST/PDST Technology in Education, in conjunction with the ICT committee of the NAPD, conference for school leaders
PDST/PDST Technology in Education & NAPD to host ICT Conference for School Leaders
PDST/PDST Technology in Education, in conjunction with the ICT committee of NAPD, are delighted to host a conference for school leaders providing an opportunity for all attendees to consider a number of whole school issues in advance of annual funding being released by the Department of Education and Skills (DES) as per the Digital Strategy for Schools (2015 - 2020).
This funding will be made available to schools on an annual basis and guidelines on same are expected in the near future with initial funds to be made available to schools in the first few months of 2017. The Digital Strategy for Schools has pledged €210 ml to schools over the five year duration of the strategy.
Our conference will take place in the Convention Centre Dublin on Wednesday the 23rd of November. This is a beautiful venue close to the centre of Dublin. It is recommended that public transport be used on the day of the conference. There are a limited number of parking spaces in the area but the Convention Centre is well served by Grand Canal Luas stop nearby.
There will be a combination of plenary and workshop sessions so all school leaders present should bring a fully charged laptop/tablet device to get the most from the day. All in attendance should be able to connect wirelessly to the internet. The conference is free of charge for all those in attendance.
Places are limited and will be assigned on a first come, first served basis through our online registration form. We will also have a confirmation process closer to the date whereby all people registered must confirm attendance.
Two school leaders (for example Principal and Deputy Principal) can attend from each school. A school may wish to send an ICT Coordinating teacher and they may attend contingent on attendance of Principal or Deputy Principal from their school.
